License Renewal Requirements for Florida
- License Holders must obtain 7 hours of training over a 2-year period. Licenses expire September 30th of each even year.
- The training must include 1 hour on workers compensation, 2 hours on false alarm prevention, 1 hour on workplace safety, 1 hour of an approved advanced subject related to the Florida Building Code, 1 on general business, and 1 of a related technical subjects.
- Technicians and Sales people must obtain 6 hours of continuing education during a 2-year renewal cycle.
- FDLE background checks must be performed every 2 years.
- Certification expires 2 years from the date of issuance.
