Are you a licensed alarm contactor who is seeking endorsement for a Florida Alarm Contractor License?  “The Certified Contractor Application for Endorsement - 10 year Provision on Form # DBPR ECLB 14” requires that you attend a 2-hour Florida Building Code course.  Attending both of the above advanced classes will meet this requirement

License Renewal Requirements for Florida

  • License Holders must obtain 7 hours of training over a 2-year period.  Licenses expire September 30th of each even year.
  • The training must include 1 hour on workers compensation, 2 hours on false alarm prevention, 1 hour on workplace safety, 1 hour of an approved advanced subject related to the Florida Building Code, 1 on general business, and 1 of a related technical subjects.
  • Technicians and Sales people must obtain 6 hours of continuing education during a 2-year renewal cycle.
  • FDLE background checks must be performed every 2 years.
  • Certification expires 2 years from the date of issuance.

Certified Electrical Contractor 11 hours of Continuing Education must include:
1 hour workers’ compensation
1 hour workplace safety
1 hour business practices
1 hour Florida Laws & Rules
1 hour Florida Building Code advanced module course

Additionally, 2 hours false alarm prevention is required for all certified electrical contractors who perform alarm work
